Which plan fits your team.
Start with headcount, then check usage and security.
Fewer than 20 people: Team
Enterprise self-serve starts at 20 seats. A 10-person company on Team Standard seats pays $200 a month on annual billing, or $250 month to month. The same company on Enterprise would pay for 20 seats, which is $400 a month before any usage. Team is also the plan you can leave after a month, which suits a pilot.
20 to 150 people: compare usage before you pick
Both plans fit this range, so the deciding number is usage. Team includes usage in the seat, with a weekly limit per person that can't be shared. Enterprise has no per-seat limit, and you pay API rates for what your team consumes. Estimate usage by role first. Heavy Claude Code users run up the most usage, so they are the people most likely to hit a weekly limit on Team and to drive the bill on Enterprise.
A few power users: mix seat types on Team
Team lets you mix Standard and Premium seats. Premium seats are $100 a month on annual billing and carry 5x the usage of a Standard seat, so put them on the 2 or 3 people who work in Claude all day. Everyone else stays on Standard. If someone still runs out, an admin can turn on usage credits.
A security review or regulated data: Enterprise
Team doesn't offer audit logs, SCIM, the Compliance API, custom data retention or the HIPAA-ready setup. If a customer contract or your insurer asks for one of them, Enterprise is the plan. If nobody has asked, don't pay for them yet.
More than 150 people: Enterprise
Team tops out at 150 seats. Anthropic documents a path for moving an organization from Team to Enterprise, so you can start on Team and upgrade when you outgrow it.
Seat prices are the cheaper part of the bill. The larger cost is the hours your team spends not using the tool well.

What is the difference between Claude Team and Claude Enterprise?
Team is a self-serve plan for 2 to 150 people with usage included in each seat. Enterprise adds audit logs, SCIM, custom data retention and a HIPAA-ready setup, and bills all usage at API rates on top of a $20 seat fee.
